Copywriting? Why use Word Forge?

Anyone can write. Well, almost anyone.

You can write, can’t you? You can carefully craft a sentence that’s grammatically correct in every way. You won’t split any infinitives, you won’t overuse prepositions. And you won’t start sentences with a conjunction - like we just did.

So why do you need to employ someone else to create good writing for you when you’re perfectly capable of doing it yourself?

Here’s why:

1. Time.

Yes, you can write. You may be able to write quickly. You may even be able to write well and quickly. But if your business is about selling products and services then that’s where your energy will need to be focussed.

No matter how well you can do it copywriting still takes time. Of course, you can dash off any old thing in 15 minutes, but it takes far longer to craft something sage and erudite that precisely fits requirements. Unless you spend your time doing little else you probably don’t have time to wrestle with your copywriting to anything like the degree it demands.

We love words. Which is fortunate since words are our stock in trade. We treat words like we treat our children: we feed them, we play with them, we chastise them when they make a mess all over the floor.

We’re not (overly) precious. We’ll follow instructions; we’ll stick to the brief; we’ll make suggestions - but ultimately we’ll do as you say. You can be sure you’ll end up with copy that meets, and exceeds, your requirements without you having to go to the trouble of actually writing anything.

3. Ability.

There is, of course, a large difference between making yourself understood and creating something that people actually want to read – and then reread.

Copywriting isn’t just about writing. It’s marketing. It’s selling your business in the shortest number of words to the maximum possible effect. Not everyone can do it.

You may be the most compelling of speakers but when asked to commit your thoughts to paper do you rather fizzle out?

Perhaps you know what you want to say but the words that end up on the page never come close to the words you had in your head.

Maybe you’re the finest of entrepreneurs but the first to admit you’re just not that good at copywriting.

Maybe, for whatever reason, words just aren’t your thing.
