On your hen night, take 25 Belgians home with you…
As a hen (or stag, should you be a chocoholic) you have a big choice ahead of you:
Action and adventure? Or Belgian handmade chocolates?
Sweat, adrenaline and mud? Or a Belgian chocolate fondue fountain?
Paintballs, go karts and clay pigeons? Or - and try and restrain yourself here - a chocolate making course where you’ll create tempting handmade chocolates with the help of the very finest chocolatiers using dark chocolate, Belgian chocolate and wonderful, creamy chocolatey chocolate. We’ll stop there – you seem to have started drooling.
Party Weekends chocolate making courses. Entirely fat free!* *You wish.
Here at Party Weekends we occasionally suffer for our art. We like to test all of our activities and, as you can imagine, a chocolate making course with real chocolatiers and the finest Belgian chocolate had few volunteers.
Oh who are we kidding? We could have laid on a coach. Mention Belgian chocolate fondue fountain round here and you have people heading off to put their swimming costumes on. Anyway, we bravely headed out on our chocolate making course and, before you decide on a chocolate course as an ideal event for your hen or stag weekend, we feel it’s our duty to tell you what we found.
After a presentation from our chocolatier on the history of chocolate we were made, entirely against our will, to drink from a chocolate fountain. You can imagine how trying that was. After security had been called to prise us away from the chocolate fountain we were made to move on, stopping only once to sample the chocolatier’s own handmade chocolates. After we’d downed several dozen we were threatened with being evicted from the course and so, despite our protestations, we were led to the next stage of the chocolate course.
The chocolatier then tormented us by forcing us, sometimes on pain of having to eat a coffee crème, to create five fillings for our truffles. Then we dipped them into a pool of molten Belgian chocolate before putting them to one side to eat set.
We designed toppings for our handmade chocolates before boxing and wrapping them. We left with 25 Belgian chocolates each, handmade by us. Curiously we arrived home with nothing but empty boxes and satisfied smiles, whilst some of us were harbouring thoughts of changing our career to that of chocolatier.
