Getting the Job Done – the JCS Story.

JCS Tools is part of the JCS group of companies which began in 1973 with Judge Ceiling Systems.

Back then our sole business was suspended ceilings. It’s still a major part of what we do (just take a look at our sister website www.judge-ceilings.co.uk) but by the early 1980s we realised that we were missing an obvious opportunity.

Our teams were running the length and breadth of the country installing our ceilings and giving their power tools a serious workout – often 7 days a week. As the business grew we found we needed more installation teams - which meant ordering yet more power tools, hand tools and fixings.

Every team needed workwear. Every team needed steps, toolboxes, torches and the million other pieces of kit that help fill up the back of the van.

So we had a bit of a brainwave. Instead of just buying and buying and buying – why don’t we sell? So we did. And JCS Tools was born.

Whilst the rest of the country was solving the Rubik’s Cube and wondering who shot JR (ask your mum), we were busy growing JCS Tools and sourcing our ranges of top industrial hand tools and power tools.

We grew our relationship with our world-class suppliers - which is why we can now offer you such incredible discount deals.
We built our depot from which we offer fast nationwide delivery.
And we grew onto the Web. Obviously.

Knowing our Power Tool Stuff

Fortunately, since we used them on a daily basis, when it came to power and hand tools and the fixings and accessories that went with them, we knew what we were talking about. We still do.

That product knowledge and customer service helped to grow JCS throughout the 80s. We think it still makes all the difference now.

Cutting the Cord: Power to the Powerless

If you’ve been in the trade as long as we have you’ll remember the dim and distant days when the only way you could use a power tool was with a mile-long extension lead.

Thankfully in the ‘90s all that started to change as cordless power tools began to make life an awful lot easier for all of us. And it’s a perfect example of JCS doing what we do best. Our experience makes us better. We’ve been selling cordless power tools since their introduction because we saw what a difference it made to our work and knew they would do the same for you.
