About Apex of the Curve

Commissioning a new website can be tough when you’re not entirely sure of the terminology. You may not be sure what you want the end product to look like. You may not even realise the possibilities.

Apex of the Curve understands all of this because they’re experts. They’ve been providing website solutions for over ten years. It began with just one man: Gordon Taylor. An honours graduate in Design (Technical and Informational Illustration), Gordon applied his skills producing illustrations and graphics for the offshore oil and gas industries using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. His clients included Shell, BP/Amoco, Amerada Hess and Bond Helicopters.

Expansion into web construction, content management and e-commerce allowed Gordon to develop specialism in HTML, CSS, Classic ASP and MS Access. He worked with blue-chip clients such as Unilever, BAE Systems, Bodycote and United Utilities.

Gordon founded Apex of the Curve, who quickly grew to occupy their current position as leaders in new media, further specialising in Dreamweaver, Flash and MSSQL.

Form and function.

There are two types of design company. One understands to the tiniest detail the latest tools, gadgets and software. They can produce something that may be cutting edge cool, but isn’t especially user friendly or even appropriate.
That is the design company whose head is turned by the latest fad; who start with the tool and work out how to apply it to you rather than the other way around.

Apex of the Curve is not that design company.
They can, of course, use whatever cutting edge tool is required but Gordon Taylor’s belief is that the tool must service the design – not vice versa.

Start with the design. Does the website do what it needs to? Is the architecture robust and reliable? What is the most appropriate tool to construct it?
Your website will, of course, look state of the art – but a website worth its salt should be so much more than fancy graphics and a novelty interface.
